Hurting People, Hurt People!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Everyone!!!
As you read this message I pray in Jesus name
, that it will pierce your heart and minister to you and that you apply God's word to your heart and life.AMEN!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When a group of us were in Florida and sitting around the table talking about the counsel, Tom said to me, “Chris, God gave you a word” and that word was Unity! Since then I have been encouraged to write things down and share with everyone as God brings them to mind. These things are very near and dear to my heart.
This morning as I got out of bed I went outside, I sat on my swing, and it was so very peaceful. I could hear the bird's chirping and a dog barking. I looked at my surroundings, it was so removed from the rat race of life that I could actually feel the peace and quiet. And while looking at the trees and the mountains as God had created them, I longed to be in a home surrounded by God's creation, even water.
Are we so busy doing the things that we think God wants us to do?
I think the question really is, “Are we doing exactly what God is calling us to do or are we doing things in vain?”
Maybe we all need to slow down and focus on what God is truly calling us to do. Have you really taken the time to stop look and listen?
Where are you with your relationships?
Such as:
Jesus Christ (personal)
Spouse
Children
Ministry
And so forth.
In what order do you have these things listed above? Don't be so quick to say, search your heart and most of all be honest with yourself.
Let us be vessels of honor and not a vessel of dishonor.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hath not the potter power over the clay of the same lump to make one vessel unto honor, and unto dishonor?
~~~~~
That every one of you should know how to posses his vessel in sanctification and honor;
~~~~~
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have we allowed God to put us on the potter's wheel?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To mold and make us into the vessel that he desires for us to be, as it is spoken in Jeremiah 18.
Do we bring honor or dishonor in all that we do?
Are we allowing Christ in our lives to the fullest according to John 3:30?
~~~~~
He must increase, but I must decrease.
~~~~~
Are we looking for notoriety or are we wanting people to notice what we have done or required with earthly possessions?
Do people look at you and see Christ working in you and through you as a vessel of honor?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have you put off the old man?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(8) But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communications out of your mouth.
(9) lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds,
(10) And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Are you dying to self according to Mathew 16:24?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Are we speaking blessings or cursing?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(6) And the tongue is a fire, a world of inequity; so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
~~~~~
(8) But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
(9) Therewith bless we God, even the father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
(10) Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. my brethren, these things ought not so to be.
~~~~~
(16) These six things doth the lord hate; yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
(17) A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
(18) A heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
(19) A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So let us be vessels of honor according to God's holy word.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(1) My son keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.
(2) Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.
(3) Bind them upon thy fingers; write them upon the table of thine heart.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Put on the new man!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(12) Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering;
(13) Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
(14) And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
(15) And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also ye are called in one body; and be ye, thankful.
(16) Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So let us put on the full armor of God.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(14) Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
(15) And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
(16) Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
(17) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God:
12 years ago in a small town church, I walked into a Sunday morning service after the preacher was finished preaching and as he was praying. I was standing, at least trying to while holding onto the back of a chair. He said: “Someone here has to hold onto a chair in order to stand, God is drawing you.” That day I went to the alter and accepted Christ as my lord and savior. It has been a rocky road since then, but God has not promised a rose garden here on earth. From that day forward I faced many things.
I thought I was a good person before Christ but as I grew in the Lord I was beginning to see things that needed to change. I started to remove things from my home, change things in how I acted and my choice of words. I went to church every time the doors were open. My family was seeing things drastically change in my life, they did not approve, and they thought I was wrong.
One night coming home from church I told God that I would believe what is written in the bible, all of it. Not some of it, not part of it, but all of it! No matter what other people would say because I knew in my heart that God's word is truth and as the saying goes, “The truth will set you free.”
Well, my mother became outraged; she thought that I was wrong, very wrong! She started to come to my home and yell and scream at me; then she became abusive towards me, it was not an easy time.
We were told by someone who did not know the situation at the time that God spoke to them and we were suppose to move but I was not willing. My home was almost paid for in full, but I knew we could not go on like this.
Willy and I were talking one day and he wanted to move, of course, I said NO! Not until God said it to me.
Well, the next thing I knew I fell back onto the floor. The decorative ladder hanging from the ceiling with baskets and dried flowers also came down. I got up from the floor and said “I am ready to move now”, so we packed up and moved. We still faced many adversities with my family, but I knew I was going to serve God with all of my heart and no matter what, you don't start a race just to walk away before the end.
As time went on, God began to minister to Willy about things from my past. A lot of it he already knew, but some things he didn't; so I knew it was of God. It was not easy facing the issues from my past such as, physical abuse, verbal abuse, and sexual abuse (from outside of the family). It was not easy letting go of these things that I had been holding onto for all those years. Yes, the day I accepted Christ, my past was forgiven and forgotten, but I held onto the hurts and pains of my life.
I had built a wall and I would not allow anyone in. It wasn't easy dealing with things or letting go of them and allowing Christ to take them. It was a process for me, yes. God can instantly take care of whatever the problems are in your life. However, sometimes he takes that wall down one brick at a time so you can heal and grow..
It was frustrating, I thought I would never find an end to dealing with things in the past from my life. I thought I had overcome these things but only finding out later that there was more to let go of and more to change.
I wanted God to put me on the potter's wheel, to mold me and make me into the vessel he wanted me to be. It was my will to have God perfect me and to have God's perfect will for my life. I wanted God to increase in my life that I may decrease. That people would look at me seeing Christ working in me and through me while allowing Christ to renew my mind. I want to be that virtuous woman according to Proverbs 31.
I have learned to forgive because Christ forgave me, to love with an unconditional love as Christ’s love for all of us. I learned to have compassion as Christ had shown compassion, to look beyond someone's faults and how they act; to know that there is always a root to their problems and issues.
Remember to let go and let God.
Many times we think we have let go, but we haven't.
Hurting People, Hurt People!
Be that vessel of honor and a man or woman of God.
Work in unity and allow the fruit of the spirit to be shown. Such as love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance.
One last thing that I leave you with is:
I want to hear God, see God
I want to love the whole God
I want to know the heart of God
I live to express the heart of God
I repent of all else.
I don't know who wrote this, but this is me.
I write this to share from my heart; only to bring glory and honor to God for what he has done for me.
May you take a moment if you don't know Christ as your lord and savior.
Christ came into this world, born of a virgin, with a plan of salvation, to go to a cross upon which he was crucified until death for all of our sins, after which, he arose on the 3rd day to ascend into heaven.
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Will you accept Christ today?
Today is the day of salvation.
(9) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
(10) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Until Next Time,
Love And God Bless You All! --- Christine
