The LORD Is My Light and My Salvation
A Psalm of David.
1.) The LORD is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the strength of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?

came upon me to eat up my flesh,
they stumbled and fell.
3.) Though a host should encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear:
though war should rise against me,

that I may dwell in the house of the LORD

As we read Psalms 27 we realize that when God is our everything that we have all we need. As with all things there are always conditions that determine the outcome of what we have. The same is with God. All we need to do to receive salvation thru Jesus Christ, is to believe in our heart and humbly confess with our mouth in order to be saved. Then we start on our road to serving God. When we start to serve the Lord we have to understand that God has his way that we need to do things in order to be blessed of him. BY HIS SPIRIT ARE ALL THINGS DONE. Not by the usual ways of doing things and in order for us to stop doing things the way that we think are best and to start doing things the spiritual way is that we have got to be changed in our hearts and minds. We need to as the bible says, Walk By Faith And Not By Sight. How do we make this crossover you ask?
Well, I am glad that you asked that question.
This is where the scripture comes in that I gave you to read already.
In order for us to walk the way that God needs us to walk, is that we have got to be willing to walk out of our normal place and go to a place that God calls us to. Like when Moses took the tent and went out away from the people. He had told the people what it was all about, then the people who also wanted to seek God were also not afraid to go outside that camp to seek God. I guess it would be like us turning off the TV, laying down the magazine, or even putting off some of our family, friends, and yes even some of our hobbies. Then just get away somewhere we won't be bothered and just spend time alone waiting for the voice of the Lord.
Jesus even went outside the walls of the city in order to be crucified for our sins. Are you willing to get away from the familiar, or away from what is comfortable in order to try to get a little closer to God. In the book of James 4:8 it says, Draw nigh to God and he will draw nigh unto you. You see, we seem to think that if we make one or two trips a week to the old church building that we have become all we need to be. OK let me ask you a question, You read a notice in your local paper that every time you come to the town hall and listen to what the local officials have to say, that you will be given $100 for being there. How many times in a week would you be going to the old town hall. All that God has to give us is free for the asking or should I say free for the seeking.
How often do you go to him to receive those things that make us richer than any in this world?

30.) Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31.) Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32.) (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33.) But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Now you are saying, OK this all sounds good, I will buy the whole program that you are selling so I will be happy forever. One problem, the things of God are not for sale. He only gives his blessings to the humble in heart who are willing to believe by faith that all his word says is true and that he will do all that it says.
Now you are saying,
OK wise guy what's the key to all this?
Be willing to forsake all to go and spend time on your face before God and wait there until you hear from him. Be willing to go outside of what you usually are willing to do and see if God doesn't bless you. The key is in 1st Samuel 13 where God told Samuel that the kingdom would no longer be his because of his disobedience and that he had found A MAN AFTER HIS OWN HEART. That is the key, to seek after the heart of God. That is where the part comes in about getting on your face before God and staying till you hear.
