How Generous We Are (Not)!
Father we come to you today upon our knees and we pray, Lord give us direction and the ability to stand upon our spiritual feet in these last days. These days that it seems that no matter what direction we turn all we see is destruction and turmoil. Help us Lord to be what you need us to be in order that the gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord and savior be taken a little further, a little deeper and put out in love.
Amen!

13
Love
1.) Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2.) And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, Mt. 17.20 ; 21.21 · Mk. 11.23 and have not charity, I am nothing.
3.) And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4.) ¶ Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5.) doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6.) rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7.) beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8.) ¶ Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9.) For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10.) But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11.) When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12.) For now we see through a glass, darkly, but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13.) And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

All that we can ever hope to do for the Lord will amount to absolutely ZERO if we do not do it in love. For you see even the fact of the crucifixion of Jesus on the cross was done out of his LOVE for us. Jesus said in John 15:13 Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Then Jesus next words that he spoke cause tears to come to my eyes every time I read them. He said, "YOU ARE MY FRIENDS"
Awesome isn't it, we are considered by the savior of all the world as his friends and so much so that he died for us.
Now back to my point, we too must do all things in love or it is for naught and that isn't all. The Love the bible talks about is not what we think of as love. We are in love one day and then when the ones we love get us upset, all of the sudden we are ready to cast them aside. But the Love that the bible speaks of is unconditional.
You see the scripture that I listed for you to read didn't even say anything about love did it? But did you notice that each verse had the word CHARITY in it? You see in the original Greek writing of the New Testament the word that was AGAPE meant an unconditional love, undying love, unchanging love. Like Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever.
There is another thing you need to understand about the importance of doing all that we do in love.

10.) For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; Rom. 14.10 that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Everything that we do as Christians will be judged by Christ when we get to heaven. All that we did for our own gain and not out of love will be burned up. So remember God sees our heart in all that we do and he knows if we are doing out of love or so that everyone else can see how generous we are (not).

Father, we pray that we would have a complete understanding of how to do all that we do for you and for others, that it all be able to be done with your love in our hearts for others. Esteeming others more highly than ourselves, for we know Lord that it is you that will exalt us if it needs to be done. Thank you Lord and we bless and we praise your Holy, Holy name.

Also I would like to take a minute to thank Mr. Gary, the web man who puts this together on the web page, also I think all of you should take advantage of the great web links that God is providing for us, like bartleby.com and the great one that Gary put on last week for the online bible. This will work really great for those of you who would like to get some answers from the bible yourselves.
