WISDOM KNOWLEDGE DISCERNMENT UNDERSTANDING

The book of Hebrews says, chapter 4:12 "For the word of God is quick, powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
In others words, as we read the word of God, as we pray and ask God how it would apply to us (ME) today. To see how, what God is saying is different from the way we are living. And come to know how we are to apply what we have read about, prayed about, and what we have figured out doesn't line up with the word of God in our daily life. To come to an understanding of what we need to do to make Gods Word (The Bible) real in our life.
Every day my prayer is ..... "Father I prey that you would give me, Wisdom, Knowledge, Discernment, and Understanding of every situation that I will come up against, that in it I would not react with my knowledge, but that I would be a vessel of honor and not a vessel of dishonor. A vessel that would be emptied out of my flesh and filled with your Spirit, that I would bring honor and glory to you in how I react in any situation."
Our duty as followers of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is to become Christ like (Christians), to become more Godly everyday and less fleshy (Carnal ) .
What we would call being carnal or in the flesh when we need to be spiritual, is what the Jews in the bible would liken to being under the law.
(kind of sort of but not really, the same thing only different)

Now don't be lost here. The Law was a standard that God had given the Israelites to live by, but after Christ's death they needed salvation thru Christ to make it to heaven and this seemed contrary to what they had been taught, as is us receiving Christ and learning to live, seems to be contrary to the way (without Christ) we have been taught to live. And now with Christ we must learn to live spiritually in a none spiritual world.
Now if you can swallow and digest that you will have this walk with Christ down pat!
(Ro 7:14 - Ro 8:2) "For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate that I do. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwells in me. For I know that in me" (that is, in my flesh) "dwells no good thing: for to will is present with me: but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but the sin that dwells in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God" (salvation here) "after the inward man" (our God centered man ): "But I see another law in my members" (carnal or fleshy here ), "warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members" (the acting out of his daily life ). "O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?" ( our wanting to be able to live a Godly life instead of always falling down because of our old ways)
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So, then with the mind I myself serve the law (salvation here) of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
Before I write out verse 1& 2 of chapter 8 in Romans I want to point this out. This is what all of us need to understand, that even in loving Christ with all that is in us, we will still mess up and sometimes really bad, but we cannot quit or let the enemy tell us we are nothing. Because without Christ we are fallen and will not get up, but with him or I should say that in him, we are more than conquerors, but it is that key, of turning always to the spiritual side (Christ in us the hope of glory) that we continue on.
Ro 8:1-2 "There is therefore now NO condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death!"
Father, I pray in the name of your son and my savior Jesus Christ, give me all Wisdom, Knowledge, Discernment and Understanding concerning all that I have read here today. That I may be able to receive that which I need to be able to walk after your Spiritual things that will help me to be a better follower of you and less of a follower of this world. - Amen
