How Can We Know The Way?
Hello, Praise the Lord, thank you Jesus. Father, we come to you today in the name of your blessed son Jesus The Christ, The Risen Savior, The King of Kings and The Lord of Lords, The Alpha and The Omega, our all in all, our everything, you are our needs fulfilled. We ask you that you would touch our leaders and our country. We ask special prayer for all those men and women who are willing to lay down their lives so that we and others who are not even of our speech or ways may be free to worship with freedom, bless them oh Lord and bless their families.

14
Jesus the Way to the Father
1 Let not your heart be
troubled: ye believe in God,
believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are
many mansions: if it were not so,
I would have told you. I go
to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again, and
receive you unto myself; that where I am,
there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know,
and the way ye know.
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord,
we know not whither thou goest;
and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am
the way, the truth,
and the life: no man cometh unto the Father,
but by me.

The Promise of the Holy Spirit
15 ¶ If ye love me,
keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father,
and he shall give you another Comforter,
that he may abide with you for ever;
17 even the Spirit of truth;
whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him
not, neither knoweth him:
but ye know him; for he
dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 ¶ I will not leave you comfortless:
I will come to you.
19 Yet a little while, and
the world seeth me no more; but ye see me:
because I live, ye shall live
also.
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father,
and ye in me, and I in you.
21 He that hath my commandments,
and keepeth them, he it is
that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be
loved of my Father, and I will love him,
and will manifest myself to him.
22 Judas saith unto him, not
Iscar'i-ot,
Lord, how is it that thou
wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the
world?
23 Jesus answered and said unto him,
If a man love me, he will
keep my words: and my Father will love him,
and we will come unto him,
and make our abode with him.
24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings:
and the word which ye hear is not mine,
but the Father's which sent
me.

Versus 1-6 Comments
In these verses in John, Jesus is talking to his disciples. You see we need to remember that while Jesus was here on the earth and had not yet been crucified, buried, and resurrected back to the Father in heaven. Notice the comment that Thomas made to Jesus in verse 5," how can we know the way".
I challenge you to think now!
If Jesus had
not yet been crucified then actually, technically they were still living in the
Old Testament yet. That is why Jesus told them in
verse 6," I am the way, the
truth, and the life."
Now I want to stretch you a little here. If Jesus hadn't died yet then the disciples still didn't have full understanding of salvation thru the shed blood of Jesus cleansing them from all of their sins.
Versus 15-23
So now after having been with the disciples some 3 years, Jesus is not telling them that a culmination of all he has taught them over the years of walking with them. He reminds them if you love me, keep my commandments. Now he reveals to them that as he leaves they will go to a new level of understanding by the Holy Ghost who the father will send in the name of Jesus. But all the time keeping the thought ever present in their minds that the world can't see him or receive him because they don't know him, but that he the, Holy Ghost or Spirit, will dwell in them.
Let me pause here and ask you the question, why don't his disciples understand this?
Now remember what I said about Jesus. He hasn't been shown as the saviour yet by death.
Then he tells them a little, you won't see me anymore, but because of this you will then know who i really am and that I am in the Father, and that THEN THEY WILL REALIZE what it means to be in Christ.
Do you understand this today as you read it?
The Jews didn't really know Jesus was the Messiah, until after his death, burial, and resurrection. I am afraid that too many of us today don't even really understand who Jesus is.
Doubt me?
Read Verse 23
"If you Love me, You will
keep my words." My friends don't let this confuse you. All thru
Gods word in the King James Bible anyway, the new
testament has the red letter words. These are the words of
Jesus Christ. Read them and obey them, that is how we love, know, and are
revealed to whom Jesus the
Christ and God the Father really are.
2 Peter 1:2
2)Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
Mathew 11:28-29
28) Come unto me all you
that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you
rest.
29) Take my yoke upon you,
and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart;
and you shall
shall find rest unto your souls.

Father; I pray that you bless all who read this with the revelation and understanding of all they have read and many may your peace fill their hearts, and shed abroad to us the knowledge of you and of Jesus.
