The Way
Jesus said,"I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no man goes to the father but by me" (Jesus).
He also said, "Except you humble yourselves and become as little children you shall not enter into the Kingdom of God".
Here in lies all the difficulties of mankind. #1 on the hit parade is the acknowledgment of who Jesus really is. Not just that he is the only begotten Son of the living God. But that without him we can not go to heaven. The dictionary says that the definition of acknowledge is "to accept or admit the existence or truth of". Now here is where the little children part comes in. H-U-M-B-L-E it’s easy to say, but oh so hard to be. It is easy for Bob to say Willy has a problem, but is it as easy for Bob to say he has a problem???? (I just grabbed the names, no one implied.)
One is a statement of truth and the other one is an acknowledgment of truth. Jesus is Lord and Jesus is the Lord of my life. They seem to be the same but are two different things. You see it is one thing to know who Jesus is and it is another to know Jesus as your Lord and savior.
Now we have come back to the little children part. You have to admit to God that you need to saved by Jesus. That means we in ourselves are not capable of getting to heaven unless we confess to Jesus that we are sinners and that we need him to save us.
This brings me to another important point before we go on. The bible says that because of the sin of one man ( Adam ) , sin came into the world. You see once Adam and Eve committed the sin of eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. They died spiritually , because when God created them they knew no sin. After eating the fruit they became sinful and so our problem with sin begins at birth. We are born into sin or we are born spiritually dead and so in order to become spiritually alive we must be born again.
Ah yes the very words that Jesus spoke to the little man in the tree (Nicodemus) he said "Except a man be born again he can not enter the kingdom of God". So you see even with living a good life, being kind and giving, a good husband or wife we will still bust hell wide open when we die. Because as the bible says, that salvage is a gift of God and not of works lest any man should boast. The bible then says, that by one man that man Christ Jesus, who died for the sins of all mankind that there is salvation for all who will humble themselves at the foot of the cross of Christ, acknowledging him as Lord and accepting him in to their hearts so as to let him change them into what he needs us to be.
So let me lead in a prayer if you will, cause the Lord will not force himself on anyone.
Lord Jesus, I confess to you here and now that I realize that I am a sinner and that I need a savior. So I, of a free will, do invite you into my heart, my life, and I do here by declare to the world and the devil, that I no longer wish to be in control of my life. I wish the Lord Jesus Christ to be in control of my mind, my thoughts, and my ways.
Lord Jesus I do willingly give you permission to change whatever needs to be changed in me. I ask you to fill me to over flowing with your Spirit and all else that you know I need , and I pray this all in the name of Jesus, AMEN!
Hello my name is Willy. I am a friend of Mr. Pyatt's and also am a trucker, but first and foremost I love Jesus Christ with all my heart, mind, and being. That is why I thought it was most important to talk to you about who Jesus is before who Willy is.
See if it wasn’t for who Jesus is I would not even be here today to tell you these things, because he is the one who put the breath of life back into my body one night as I lay on a bar room floor dead from an overdose, so you see, when I tell you that Jesus can change your life and make all things new again it’s because I am living proof.
