When Jesus spoke to the Scribes and the Pharisees in Matthew 15 and 8-9, He told them you honor me with your lips but your hearts are not with me. We need to understand that when we are dealing with the Savior of this world that he knows the very thoughts and intents of ours hearts. We can say that we are wanting to serve God and to follow his leading. But we are not able to lie to the Spirit, because it is made open in the eyes of the Lord.
That is why it says, Be not deceived for God is not mocked. It also shows us that when we are busy making excuses for not serving the Lord in the manner in which we have been called to do, but instead we claim to have a good reason why we can't give to the extent we have felt to go in our service with Christ. Keep in mind that this is with our money ,mind, lips, hearts, and bodies. So now we go to 2 Co. 9:6-8. You need to remember that God sees all that we do for him, but he also sees all that we hold back from him also. So you see that in the end who really ends up on the short end of the stick.
There are those who claim to stand in places of authority and those who claim to speak with Gods words, that the Bible says are liars, that speak with the thought of mans admonition in mind and not with the true heart of God. Those who believe that because of their much speaking and of their place of reputation with the people of the world that they are then able to twist the true Word of God. I simply refer them back to Galatians 6:7.
My friends let this message fit anywhere it belongs whether it is directly in your life or in the lives of those that God would show you, but none the less don't let it fall to the ground or onto deaf ears without it being properly applied where it need be applied.
For it has to do with our churches that don't bring forth the word with the power and it has to do with our own personal service to the great I am and it also has to do with those who try to deceive us with fabricated lies that are intended to draw Gods people from him.
Two weeks ago
National Geographic showed on TV a supposed recently new found document
that said that:
"Judas was actually a good friend of Jesus"
"Who had to be told by Jesus to go ahead and deceive him."
Anyway without going into all the mess of it, just read Acts 1:16-18... John 18:1-5 .... Luke 22:1-6 also Luke 22:21-30....... also Matthew 26:20-25 (check out verse 24).
The show said that Judas was really a good friend to Jesus,
Don't sound like it from this verse.
Anyway God will deal with them, not us, we need to just be aware.

Lord Jesus, I pray that if any who are reading this today don't know you as their Lord and Savior that they would come to know and understand that because of the sin in the garden of Eden that all who were born after that are born into sin. But that Jesus Christ left his glory in heaven with the Father to take on the likeness of sinful flesh yet being without sin condemned sin in the flesh by willing giving his life on the cross at calvary and then on the third day rose from the grave and ascended into heaven to take his place at the right hand of God to reconcile us back to God by his blood and ever live to make intersection for us. Jesus said no greater love has a man than that he would lay his life down for his friends. Father help us all to understand that Jesus is our friend.
